Fanvids have never really been my thing, until this morning when Youtube recommended this:

Don't let the "Huddy" in the title put you off. Y'all know that's not my ship.

Exerpts from the prillalar.com drabble generator. It's like mad libs; I put in my favorite pairings and a few choice cliches and *poof* out come drabbles.

Shakespeare:

What's in a name? That which we call a toe
By any other name would smell as pretty
Dost thou love me? I know thou wilt say "like a shining sea glistening to the ends of the earth"
And I will take thy word; yet if thou swear'st,
Thou mayst prove well-hung.

Adventure/Romance (House/Stacy):

House's desire was enflamed. His toe throbbed and all his thoughts were to touch Stacy like a panther. House caressed Stacy's well-hung tongue and she responded. They came together badly, and their joining was as dark as their battle, and also much louder.

"Ah, my sweet bed!" House groaned and touched Stacy as emphatically as he could.

Alice in Wonderland-ish (Lupin/Tonks):

It gave him the most gangly tingling sensation in his hand. "How unusual!" he said and continued tripping to see Tonks.

When Tonks came out to meet him, she took one look and fell over.

"What is it?" Remus cried lazily.

"Your toe! And your tongue!" Tonks said. "They're necessary! Can't you feel it?"

Remus felt his toe and his tongue. They were indeed quite necessary.

I have finished several big projects for work in the past few weeks. Plenty more await doing, but I deserve a break, darn it!

Guilt has led me to make a contribution to the House fandom. I discovered the show in December and have been avidly reading fanfiction ever since, yet, alas, no art. Time to give back, it seems.

For your viewing pleasure, my very first House fan art: House/Stacy

OMG!!!

I know I have been incommunicado for for-e-ver but I just saw the the new HBP trailer and just had to squee. I can't wait until July! I don't care where I am in the world at midnight on the 15th, I'm gonna find me an IMAX 3D Experience.

Also, I now officially ship Snape/Everybody.

I'm tired of being a workaholic.

I have always identified myself through my work, but this is getting ridiculous. I have been putting in 12 hour days 6 or 7 days per week since August, travelling (and I HATE to travel), and just passed a momentous birthday. The time is ripe for me to blow off all the stuff I have committed to doing and not only read fic (which I did almost all day on my birthday), but draw fanart.

Given the fantastic entries in the [info]metamorfic_moon jumble, I just had to draw. If you haven't read it, [info]gilpin25's By Going On is a beautifully touching "what if they had lived" piece that feels the grief and guilt of the living as deeply as the tragedy of the dead.

Here's a little illustration of a moment in Gilpin's fic, drawn in a vexel-type style that I've been hankering to explore.

OMG - I forgot how to do a user tag. *headscreen*

This was to be my big project of a [info]metamorfic_moon submission but I just don't have the time to finish it (probably because I've been off chasing art bunnies - see three of my other four posts to the jumble). So I'm posting the WIP to my journal, instead. Please don't fullview. You'll see all the really ugly sloppy bits.

Two Things...

Number One: Indiana Jones is RAD! Anybody who didn't like it officially doesn't get self-conscious, formulaic flicks that are so overdone they have created their own cliches. I LMAO the whole time! Only criticism: the score was a bit understated and, shoot!, that's what I go to these kinds of movies for. There was less thematic material than in past episodes :( But Harrison Ford still being smexy at sixty-whatever WINS!

Number Two: I need more RT fanfiction NOW! I'm jonesing for it! HELP! *strangled cry*

R/T Art: Expectation

I think I now know what you authors of multichapter fics might encounter as you promise yourself to finish the set and toil away.

Here is the promised second "photo" of Remus and the getting really big... Tonks of Deathly Hallows.

Here it is: what I've done tonight instead of working on the second R/T photo drawing... (which is gonna be the death of me because I've been in love with Remus since the very first sketch but have completely deleted and re-drawn Tonks six or seven times and she still looks like a burn victim or something. *headscreen*)

So far I've drawn two kisses, a snuggle, a smutty animation, a horror scene, and shower sex. Which topic have I neglected? Why, proof that these two were procreating, of course! This is the first of two "photos" of Remus and his very pregnant Tonks.

R/T wedding kiss for metamorfic_moon prompt

For the [info]metamorfic_moon discussion/prompt today: R/T wedding.

It's a rush job: didn't have time to clean up the contour so I just deleted it. Color palette is limited but I kinda like it anyway because a) it's R/T and I lurve them *sigh* and b) it's different and I haven't fussed with it until I hate it with perfectionistic passion.

Yay! I drew Harry!

black-belt
Tax time = procrastination (I still have two-and-a-half weeks, after all)

So I drew Harry Into the Pensieve...

...because I'm all angsted-out on Remus right now.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Harry wouldn't take his glasses off to stick his head in liquid light (a)because it's light, (b)because he really does need them to see. Guess I'll go back and draw the glasses after all...

Edit no. 2: with glasses

Have been hard at work on light and shadow. This attempt, inspired by the first chapter of the exceptionally fine Remus fic "Disaster: See Also, Remus J Lupin, Love-Life Of" by the incomparable [info]ladybracknell, is just about right.

New R/T Art!

I am actually quite proud of this one. ;)

While I absolutely adore sweet vanilla Remus/Tonks romance, my gut feeling about these two characters is that they carry a heavy load of angst that probably just multiplies when they are together. I tried to aim for that as I "painted" this.

Artsy things I learned with this: using saturated colors! yippee!

Photoshoppy things I learned with this: textures! layer attributes/functions! layer masks! eye dropper tool!

Title: Angsty
Media: Photoshop
Time: three weeks of 15 minutes here, 30 there

Another fic illustration

I reluctantly left my computer at home while I went on a business trip and then had Christmas with the fam - but I brought my photoshop book with me. Needless to say, I had some ideas by the time I returned and this is the product

Harry and Remus at LCH )
This is an illustration of a scene in mercutio-rane's "Of Blood, Ice, and Fire". My original idea was to butter her up with an illustration before I groveled and begged her to finish the WIP. The artistic (gosh, I use that term loosely) product, however, is a bit ummm.... experimental. How's that for a euphemism?

The fic is utterly brilliant AU R/T and I love it, love it, love it! Read it here: Of Blood, Ice, and Fire

Help! I'm drawing and I can't stop!

I can't stop with the Photoshop - not even for sleep. It's a horrid obsession! Just me, my computer, and my "Photoshop Bible" open to the index. Oh yeah! And my favorite "Harry Potter" characters on the brain, but that's more common than compulsive computer use.

Want the backstory on the shiny new photoshop? read http://fthpfthpfthp.livejournal.com/1338.html#cutid2

So, without further ado, here is take 3 in Photoshop (take 2 was a wacky alien painting tutorial thingy)

My First Fan Art

If I had my way, I would read fanfiction all day, every day. I live to check my friends page every night to see if any of my favorite R/T authors have posted new chapters (currently fiending for another chapter of "A Little More Time" by [info]jesspallas or "The Werewolf Who Stole Christmas by [info]ladybracknell). Alas, I am married to my job and am one of the truly lucky folks who are deeply in love with their jobs (good thing since I work 50+ hours per week for a pittance). But fiction is my lusty mistress.

more babble )

This is my very first piece of fan art and my very first foray into digital art. It is for [info]mrstater, whose fanfic I very much admire. I don't know her at all, but there was a comment after her entry for the Metamorfic Moon Christmas challenge-y thingy relating a desire to see her fic "In Peace" illustrated. Not sure what possessed me to think I could be the one to do it, but here is my attempt.

In Peace - for MrsTater's beautiful fic of the same name )

totally new

I'm new here. Actually, I'm new to the whole user generated web site thingy having only recently upgraded from dial-up. I can't post comments to other users yet because my email address hasn't been verified and it seems I can't receive emails from livejournal. Here's to hoping that gets sorted out soon.

An idea popped into my head for a Lupin/Tonks fic and since I haven't written any short stories since high school (a good 12 years ago), I am burning to scribble it down, so to speak, and post it online. Seems like such a hip and cool and very un-geeky thing to do. And if you're thinking that writing 'ship stories with Harry Potter characters is geeky, my response is 'baby steps.'

P.S. The previous paragraph contains my very first ever ever html code!!!!! Yay me! Joining the 21st century.
